We live in an age of video games and social networking sites, which keep us occupied and stimulated most of the time. But it can be nice to break away from the digital realm, and enjoy some time with the family. When you find yourself and your kids stuck inside on a rainy day, there are some activities you can use to keep them occupied, and away from the TV.

Try stocking up on board games. Having a collection of family favorites on hand will save you on those days you can’t go outside, and can provide hours of fun and family time. Monopoly, Trouble, Life, or Risk are always classics, but there are plenty you can find down your local toy stores game aisle.

Have some arts and craft supplies on hand,. This is especially great if you have younger kids, who like to work with their hands. From drawing pictures, to paper mache, you can easily get them involved. Be sure to put their work somewhere special, so they can feel proud about what they have made.

Want to get active? Turn on some music and have a dance party. It’s fun, and great exercise, and your kids will love it, especially the little ones.
