It would be great if we could all live in sweeping mansions filled with halls and giant rooms, but we don’t. Most of us live in moderately sized houses, or perhaps apartments, and are seriously lacking in space. But there are some things you can do to make the room look just a little bit larger, and less boxed in.

The first thing you should always do is be careful of where, and how, you hang pictures. Designating one wall is a good idea for photographs, but male sure they don’t appear cramped, and there aren’t too many. The same goes for painting or wall hangings. Too many in one area shrinks the look of the entire room.

Next, hang up a mirror, especially a circular one. This reflects the image of the room, and makes it appear larger. but don’t use one that si too large, as it can be distracting, and draws the eye away from the rest of the decor.

Finally, don’t leave too many areas completely bare. You should always have the center of the room open, but items along the sides, with one side of the room left alone. It opens the area up, and make allows for better walkways.
